First off, can anyone tell the differences in the pics that are posted here? No not trying to be a wisenheimer….that of course is not the intent. But aside from the poses, what else is different? [no it is not the fact that the new diet is working….but more on that part later on]. It has to do with the fact that the pic on the right was done on film, the one on the left, from the last set here….digital. And there is no real appreciable difference per se in how these look. Yes there is a reason why I started this post off like this…
A lot of this has to do with the fact that a digital camera is only as good as the company that mnufactures same. I know, this may seem like such an elementary concept…but you would be amazed how many folks miss out on that itsy-bitsy fact. There are some places where folks are practically pushed into doing so, sue to this competitive aspect of the pic taking realm [put another way, if you remember the lyrics to the song by America, ‘Tin-Man’, then you have a fairly good idea of what is meant here…by the by those lyrics can be applied to other issues as well] because it is supposed to improve things XYand Z percent etc. Like with anything else, it really does come down to who made the camera and ther quality of same. Which gets into why the two pics do look similar in quality….they were done on AGFA digital as well as AGFA film. If you are wondering why, here goes….
AGFA has for quite a few years made products which while a little warm in the overall presentation [called the ‘late afternoon European cafe effect’ by some in the photography press], were actually BETTER for those of us with darker skintones. This was due to in addition to their folm having the standard RGB layers, the addition of Orange as another layer. This layer as things have it aided in the tones of darker hued persons to show with more brilliance than the product made by the folks from the land of Genesee Beer, that being Kodak. [I know I will or have lost a portion of folks who swear by the Kodak brand, but it was a dirty little secret that when it came to some skintones, Kodak film…at least the commercially available product was not up to snuff and that Kodachrome or even Ektapress were infinitely better at doing same. However, those other two products cost more and the processing of same was on the high side as well]. And it seemed that this also carried over to their digital products as well. I run a few of them for other things and can tell you outright that when one starts with a product from the emulsion end of the house [or from a better portion of that end] as opposed to the image capturing end of same…the chances are very good that the product will work very well for all and not just for some.
Of course there was another reason for the latest post from the digital end. I finally have a diet that actually works…and as of this moment there is a solid 10 that has been dropped. It seemed a little like some strange chemical magic had been going on, but it works so far….as well as being hypercareful about what I do eat etc. Still this is amazing…..and as I had mentiond to my crush that it is 10 down, 40 more to go..and she will see a more lithe, if not happier me in the process [which leads into something…when one can walk by the nearest Pizza Hut and not even think in terms of what they sell, as in for dinner, etc that means one is on to something good]
So that is it for now. But before I go, another from last week [yes, the crush as seen the others and she knows exactly why this is being done *S*]
Yeppers….amazing what paying attention to cal counts as well as getting those ever so lovely riot acts being read to someone will do to and for a person. And it helps me to anticipate spring a little more, if only due to the fact that …it will also be walking season, as opposed to duck or rabbit.
So that is all for now. And as has been said before….from the land of the colortini….enjoy the post as the pics and words fly through the air.
