If you are wondering about the green in the outfit, there is a good reason. A Darn good one. Someone upstairs….that being a guy by the name of Vince Lombardi smiled on the planet this past Sunday, in particular…two spots. Dallas where the Super Bowl was held [for the first and more likley last time due to the problems they had] and the town of Green Bay, Wisconsin. For those reading from across the pond and do not know where this is on the map..if you were to open a US map and then look at the state of Wisconsin, Green Bay is a small dot a couple inches [more like an hour and a half as the hawk flies] north of Milwaukee. But for many of us kids who like the sport of stateside football [or footie in other words to the rest of the planet]…there was a dream of going to a game there in Green Bay, at Lambeau Field which is a shrine to the sport. Much like to architectural aficianados who see ‘La Sagrada Familia’ in Barcelona, designed by Antonio Gaudi as a place to visit in their lifetimes, same thing with Lambeau. So ‘Titletown’ is once more….
And with the game in the books the thoughts of the heart and mind can concentrate on the next big day that is celebrated here in the US, being Valentine’s Day. Now the cynic in me at times would agree with that line from the sitcom ‘Becker’ when Ted Danson’s title character says that ‘…the only person who had the right idea about Valentine’s Day was Al Capone…’. Funny, sick, demented and shows that there are those who’s sense of humour is in a jugular vein, when it comes down to life. I tend to think along those lines at times, more like gallow’s humour [see the previous posts about the medical issues here] but there are times when the heart is a tad lighter. This is one of them, if only as I have mentioned to others and I hope with the crush that hope springs eternal.
In one of those copius emails to her, I had mentioned what would possibly be on the menu, if there was a miracle that have us in the same place, same time …especially on a day like VDay. Well I did test out the menu…that test was supposed to be for the big game [was a little bit under the weather] but one day late did not make a difference. As you can see by the pic below:
it did work. Ok I did take a few bites out of the focaccia, but this was a fantastic meal [if any of y’all are wondering what the recipes are, shoot me a line and I will send it on]. Not bad for a geekette who is on a restricted diet c/o ‘the gang of five’. Of course what is missing from here is the dessert and a little bit of a more romantic setting. Oh yes….in the background the right music, including the first encore piece Renaissance played at their Spring 1984 concert….which also has been mentioned in a previous blog post. Again…hope does spring eternal.
So with that til the next time….where there should be diet progress pics and other select notes. Til then…from the land of the colortini…enjoy as the words and the pics fly through the air.
