Here comes the sun….and other top 40 hits…

Amazingly enough, we had the sun out in this part of the world. Scary considering that we had something close to 30 out of 33 days of rain or days where rain occurred. 7 more days and we will be at Noah level.  Not that we do not need the rain, we do. But by the same token…we do not need the constrant dreariness which accompanies same. Granted there are folks who will make a sincere profit off of this: bookstores, bars, pharmacies which dispense anti-depressants.  Yes, I know a tad mean spirited, but yes that is the case.

What was amazing too is that in addition to the second phase of the drop in pounds…is how one feels when the sun does hit. For example, the kitties are more active, happier..and want to play more. This does the heart a world of good, even though they are getting older as we all are, they still have the hearts of kittens. As long as they do not decide to sharpen their claws on the legs as the pantihose is being put on. But they are happy and when I am happy. this trio feels parsecs better about life.  Then again, the kitties do not go out and see the mess that mankind has become.

Now maybe it was the fact that the sun positively affected the folks at the Kroger, but gee everyone was in a darn good mood. Even one man who came up to me and uttered a joke I had heard before. This being the one referenced in a previous blog about the difference bet blondes, brunettes and redheads. Yeah, it is still funny and this caught me off guard, so I was in tears laughing for several minutes. And yet this was just another example what happens when one gets beyond the malaise or morass of the group dynamic.

It is something that I have mentioned to the crush off and on when I am being a little less romantic and more in the way of being serious, that the group environment is very limiting. As in saying where to shop, where to go to for social interaction. It is in the vein of well, let’s say you buy a goldfish from the store. In the baggie the fish is in, there is a limited amount of water, which means a limited amount of O2 for the fish to breathe through its gills. If the fish is not transferred to something larger to not only swim in or for that matter get fresher water, there is a good possiblity of the fish passing on to the choir invisible. The same thing is true in the TG environment. Unlike the fish,  these limitations also seem to tax the participant with prices to be a part way above what would happen if one were to well…shop in places like Macy’s or Target vis a vis specialty boutiques, por ejemplo. I know…some may consider this to be sacriledge, but it is true. [any other business that showed an obscene markup would be out of business or be labled as bad news for life]

Before I get in trouble with the orthodox end of the TG spectrum over voicing an honest POV, I have a pic of what our part of Portland is surrounded by.

I know, it is an obstructed view, [as for it’s title, I know it is taken from an America album called ‘View From the Ground’, which was one of their better efforts in recent years]  but this is from our little neck of the woods.  Looking northeast, this is towards the range where Mt St. Helen’s rules and on the right type of day…the view of it is rather awesome. To the southeast of this and us is Mt Hood, part of the same chain. The good news is that Hood is not about ready to blow it’s top….but St. Helen’s has been acting up off and on. And we do know it is a matter of time before that does happen.

[Just a thought here, seeing I did bring up these volcanoes, when you kind folks reading this get a chance, Pray for Japan. While there have been other tragedies on the planet recently, very few have been as destructive as this one was to an area which is as interconnected to the rest of the world through commerce and culture. So no matter what your stripe, keep them in your thoughts and prayers. And if you have relatives or friends there, keep in contact with same.]

Oh there is one really last thing I want to bring up…this in the form of a pic that a friend of mine sent over in Twitter…and it is another little message to the one I am smitten with:

No more words on this one, the one I am smitten with will understand *S*

So that is it for now….from the land of the colourtini, enjoy the words as the pics fly through the air.

My blog is more or less about life; the adventures in fixing PC's, the trips to the doctors....otherwise known as my 'gang of five who keep me alive', the cats...and thoughts about a particular person who I am deeply smitten with [if the person only knew how deep that goes *S*]. Otherwise, this is ordinary.
