It seems that we have gotten lucky recently, weatherwise. Yes, it was actually nice out over the past few days, so I decided to take the little digital with me on the errand run, go a little out of the way to a run which is on a road above I-5 and take a few pics. What is above is Mount Hood, which is about 26-30 miles from downtown…dep on the route to same. On those kind of days when the sun is out, the skies are clear….this is one of those sites when looking east that makes one feel fortunate that one lives in this part of the world. Granted, this particular peak is part of the same chain that Mt St. Helen’s is in, hence there is a worry that at some point, Hood may blow its top like St Helen’s did quite a few years back. But while it is still remaining, this is a wonderful sight..something kinda romantic to look at under the right circumstances. Which is in it’s own way…a little bit of a message and a hint to **** that yes this is part of what is waiting here should we get together and it happens on these shores.
By the by the title of the pics from this series does borrow from the album by America called ‘View From the Ground’, which in a bit of irony….features a tune called ‘Right Before Your Eyes’…..affectionately referred to by their fans as ‘Rudolph Valentino’. The lyrics for same have another hidden little subtext which a certain someone would be able to gather [I did not think of this at the time I first heard it the song was that romantic] because the lyrics seemed to be a little too….syrupy. Come to think of it…if my memory serves, the first and only time I recall hearing that one live was a show on one of the west side piers in NYC many many years ago, when Renaissance of all things opened for America. Will save the story of that mini-disaster for Ren for another post….
As for the work project, it is moving along rather nicely. The client was down here last week and over dinner…we discussed what the overall look of it should be. Also we do have a name for it, but I will not give that one out til it is registered with Network Solutions. I can tell you that this is going to be an extensive, helpful and educational site for those who are radio fantatics. The good news again is that …this is steady work…..and it helps. That along with the pay for same….which keeps the cats and I in food and catnip for a while….not that I eat catnip *S*
By the way, when we were out this past Friday, as well as when I was on the errand run after taking those pics yesterday…there was another one of those little lessons about why in some places there is derision towards the TG community due to their visage. Without naming the location of one of the Freddy Kroger’s in question on this…it seems that Fridays are when the more extreme, well negative end of folks comes out. Thing worse than the Minnesota Strip in NYC and you will get the idea. Contrast this with the atmosphere of the Hawthorne Freddy Kroger and….wow. Granted the radar was on, but that had more to do with finding pizza dough for foccacia….but it did go off otherwise and it was like wow…ok this gives me hope. We are just folks in the place…and heck that made me feel good. More like all of us were dressed to blend in..nothing more, nothing less…heck we were even in the same aisles together….me jamming out to Ren on the air guitar deciding on entrees, salsa and cheese. This filled me with joy….great….just humans. Also nothing about the collective malaise about the world that seems to permeate other places.
Well that is all the news for this post dispatch. And as per usual….til next time…from the land of the colourtini….enjoy the words as the pics fly through the air *S*
